WHY WE EXIST
For decades, luxury asked for a compromise. Beautiful brands were rarely clean. Clean brands were rarely aspirational.
GLOSS MODERNE was founded in 2011 to close that gap, with a vision for beauty that could be both clean and luxurious.
As the first Clean Luxury lifestyle house, we believed from the beginning that exceptional beauty, responsibility and wellbeing could exist in harmony.
That founding vision continues to guide everything we create today.
Kuen Rameson, Founder
Before founding GLOSS MODERNE, Kuen Rameson was a Vice President with UBS Wealth Management, where she advised high-net-worth entrepreneurs and gained unique insight into building enduring businesses.
Travelling through the world’s finest hotels, Kuen saw a white space for beauty products that matched the design, performance and care of their surroundings. She envisioned products that could offer that same sense of luxury while embracing a clean, health-conscious way of life.
She set out to make them.
In 2011, GLOSS MODERNE launched sulfate-free, paraben-free, phthalate-free, vegan, cruelty-free and refillable — years before “clean beauty” became a category. The brand has been based in Newport Beach, California since the beginning, with fine fragrance composed in Grasse, France.
Today Kuen continues to guide GLOSS MODERNE with the same founding belief: that modern luxury should be beautiful, responsible and intentional.
